Project Overview

Across Kuwait's national power-infrastructure expansion, Al Eid Engineering supplied lifting equipment and compressed air systems for multiple high-voltage substation projects executed by leading contractors including SHBC, Boodai, NCC, Larsen & Toubro and Siemens.

The multi-year program included overhead cranes and manual chain hoists for substation equipment installation and maintenance — such as the 2-ton and 6-ton EOT cranes pictured at the 400kV Al-Qabd substation and Verlinde 6-ton systems delivered through SHBC — plus BOGE compressed air packages for pneumatic control and instrumentation.

Supplying geographically dispersed sites with different contractors, specifications and schedules demanded dedicated logistics planning, site-specific documentation and contractor liaison. All equipment met MEW specifications and international standards (IEC, IEEE), with corrosion-resistant finishes for outdoor substation environments, and no project delays were attributable to equipment supply.

  • EOT cranes 2T & 6T — 400kV Al-Qabd substation (SHBC)
  • Manual chain hoists: 58 × 5T, 9 × 7.5T, 9 × 3T across program sites
  • 40 × BOGE compressed air systems (via Alghanim Wormald)
  • Verlinde hoisting equipment with corrosion-resistant finishes
  • Compliance certification to MEW, IEC and IEEE requirements
  • Multi-contractor delivery scheduling and technical support
